For
almost 2 years, 200 policemen, teachers, doctors, reverends and helpers from
England have been to work for a week each to renovate a building for the AIDS children
of Constanta. The English people have offered
their help voluntarily and all transportation has been by themselves. The investment has been
estimated at 500 000$, the money has been obtained from donations.
Reverend
Ashley Cooper and a large group of volunteers invite the English people to
donate money or to come and work in Romania. "We show pictures and
organise presentations which invite people to come and help us,” says Reverend
Cooper.
The
co-ordinator of the project and Vice President of the foundation 'Ajutati
Copiii Romaniei', Ron Brassey, thanks the Local Authorities for their support
and hopes that in 2 months the building will be ready to use. "Many people
like Dr Meagroe, Dr Sirbu {The Dean of the University), the Mayor and the Local
Council, the local police and especially the traffic police who helped greatly
by transporting the materials, have all made the project possible".
The
volunteers say “We come to Romania to offer the children who are in a terminal
condition a decent death”.
The
capacity of the building is for 50 places and the children will be treated in
medical rooms with high quality medical machines.
After
finishing that project, they hope to build a hostel, resting rooms, a chapel
and a mortuary .
